Hornist Cort Roberts performs with The Orchestra of St. Lukes, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of New York, The American Composers Orchestra, The American Symphony Orchestra, Contemporaneous Ensemble, The Knights, Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival, and on several Broadway shows.  He recently served as the Interim Associate Principal/3rd Horn of the Auckland Philharmonia in New Zealand during the 2023 season.

Cort is an alum of Carnegie Hall’s Ensemble Connect, class of 2020-23. During his residency, he performed chamber music frequently in Carnegie Hall’s many venues, and he helped to develop a series of interactive concerts in NYC public schools, incarceration facilities, and organizations that support people with developmental disabilities. In 2019, Cort joined The Brass Project, a sextet dedicated to commissioning and performing new music for brass instruments. Since 2016, the group has commissioned more than 43 new works, and they recently released their second group album, Transmission.

Cort finished his undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado Boulder– while there, he also completed minors in Business and Leadership Studies. He moved to NYC in 2017 for his Master’s degree at the Juilliard School, and went on to complete his Doctorate degree at Stony Brook University. Originally from Colorado, Cort avidly seeks quality time in the outdoors– he enjoys hiking, backpacking, biking, running, skiing, and finding beautiful views!
