Aurelien Fort Pederzoli, a French-born violist currently residing on the east coast, has had a rich and varied career in the world of classical music.

From 2009 to 2014, Aurelien was a founding member of the Spektral Quartet, ensemble in residence at the University of Chicago. With Spektral, he can be heard on the Aparté, Zica and Parlour+ Labels. During his time with the quartet, Aurelien had the great pleasure of collaborating with leading composers such as Hans Thomalla, Lee Hyla, Bernard Rans, Anna Clyne, Augusta Read Thomas, Shulamit Ran, Nico Muhly and many others. 

From 2016 to 2020, Aurelien was a member of the Lyric Opera Orchestra and a frequent performer with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Upon relocating to the NYC area, Aurelien found himself collaborating with esteemed ensembles such as Classical Tahoe, the Metropolitan Opera, Second Ending Ensemble, the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, and Orpheus. 

In 2013, he founded the Black Oak Ensemble, a string trio based in Chicago. The trio has released two albums on the Cedille Records label and is working on their third focused on the music of British female composers, coming out May 2025.
