AMANDA HARDY

Amanda Hardy is the principal oboist of the Portland (Maine) Symphony Orchestra where she occupies the Clinton Graffam Chair. A frequent performer with the Boston Symphony and Boston Pops, Amanda has both toured internationally and recorded with them, She has soloed with the Boston Pops in Symphony Hall, and has played concertos with the Portland Symphony, the Bach Virtuosi Festival, and the Chelsea Music Festival in New York. Amanda is the Assistant Professor of Oboe at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and teaches at the New England Conservatory (NEC) Preparatory School and Northeastern University. Her solo work can be heard in a recently released CD, Dancing with J.S. Bach (2019), on the Chelsea Music Festival Live label. Originally from Iowa, she holds degrees from Drake University and NEC, where she studied with the BSO Principal Oboe, John Ferrillo.
