Amy Advocat Clarinetist

AMY ADVOCAT

Sought out for her “dazzling” (Boston Globe) performances with “extreme control and beauty” (The Clarinet Journal), Amy Advocat, clarinetist, enjoys a multi-faceted career across chamber, orchestral, and new music genres.

In addition to regular appearances in influential new music groups such as the Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Alarm Will Sound, Sound Icon, Guerilla Opera, Collage New Music, and Dinosaur Annex, Amy is also a sought-after chamber musician with performances with Worcester Chamber Music Society, Radius Ensemble, North Country Chamber Players, Easton Chamber Music Festival, and more.

Passionate about the future of the bass clarinet, Amy founded the bass clarinet and marimba duo Transient Canvas, with whom she premiered over 600 new works and released three albums to critical acclaim. The duo regularly tours across the United States and Europe, including featured performances at Vienna Contemporary Composers Festival (Austria), Alba Music Festival (Italy), Music on the Edge (Pittsburgh), Outpost Concert Series (Los Angeles), and many more.
Amy Advocat is a proud endorsing artist with Conn-Selmer and Henri Selmer Paris Clarinets.
