
RONNIE BAUCH
As a violinist, arts administrator and educator, Ronnie Bauch has helped shape the trajectories of two important American musical organizations, the internationally renowned, Grammy Award-winning Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and the North Country Chamber Players, recognized as one of New England’s premier chamber ensembles.
A member of the Orpheus violin section since 1975 and a staunch advocate for the self-governing and collaborative aspects of the group, Mr. Bauch served several terms as an Artistic Director and also served as Managing Director from 2002 to 2008, during which time he led a major organizational turn-around.
As a violinist, he has toured throughout North and South America, Europe, and Asia with Orpheus and other groups. Ronnie has appeared as a soloist with Orpheus, the American Symphony, the Long Island Philharmonic, the American Composer’s Orchestra, and the Westchester Philharmonic, and has performed on hundreds of national and international radio and TV broadcasts and recordings with Orpheus and other ensembles.
In addition to collaborating with the world’s greatest classical artists, from Isaac Stern and Itzhak Perlman to Luciano Pavarotti and Renee Fleming, Mr. Bauch has also performed or recorded with Led Zeppelin, Linda Ronstadt, Tony Bennett, Celine Dion, Sting, Herbie Hancock, Wynton and Branford Marsalis, and Wayne Shorter.
As the primary architect of the Orpheus Institute, a curriculum for training 21st century musicians, he designed groundbreaking experiential learning programs for the Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, Indiana University, the Paris Conservatory, Interlochen Arts Academy, and Baruch High School.
As the creator of the Orpheus Process® demonstration, Mr. Bauch has been a featured speaker at Stanford, Columbia and Hitotsubashi (Tokyo) Universities, the Universities of Pennsylvania, Illinois, Iowa, California at Berkeley, NYU, and Baruch College.
